- What is JobWren?
- A free tool to search real, open tech jobs from many companies in one place, gauge how well you fit a role, and track the jobs you've applied to. No sign-up, no spam.
- Where do the jobs come from?
- From official, public job APIs: companies' own boards (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Comeet, SmartRecruiters) and open job feeds (The Muse, Remotive, Arbeitnow, Jobicy, RemoteOK, Himalayas). We don't scrape sites like LinkedIn or Indeed, and every listing links back to the original posting on its source.
- Is it really free?
- Yes. Searching, tracking, and browsing are completely free. The only feature with a cost is the AI “Check my fit” analysis, which runs on the Anthropic API using your own API key.
- Why do I need my own API key for fit analysis?
- The fit analysis calls the Anthropic API, which costs a small amount per use. So you can use it without limits — and so we’re not paying for everyone’s usage — you supply your own key. It’s stored only in your browser and sent directly to analyze a role. Grab one at console.anthropic.com. Note: an API key needs its own credits and is separate from a Claude Pro subscription.
- Where is my data stored?
- In your browser only. Your tracked applications, resume, and API key never touch our servers. You can back everything up or move it to another device from Settings → Export/Import. See our privacy policy.
- How does location work?
- Type any city or country to filter results. We may suggest a location based on your approximate IP location to save you typing — you can always change or clear it.
- I can't find junior / intern roles in some places.
- Use the level chips (Intern, Junior/Entry) to filter. Coverage depends on what companies publish in English on their public boards — entry-level listings are genuinely scarcer in some regions, and we surface what's available.
