Privacy Policy

JobWren is built to be private by design. We don’t have user accounts, and we don’t run a database of your activity. In plain terms: your personal data stays in your browser.
What we store, and where
- Tracked applications, your resume text, and preferences are saved only in your browser’s local storage. They are never uploaded to or stored on our servers.
- Your Anthropic API key (if you add one) is saved only in your browser. When you run a fit analysis, it’s sent over an encrypted connection through our server to Anthropic to make that one request, and is not logged or stored.
Job listings
Job results come from companies’ official public job-board APIs (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Comeet). We relay this public data to you; we don’t add tracking to it.
Location suggestion
To save you typing, we may suggest a location based on your approximate location derived from your IP address, using a third-party geolocation service. This is a suggestion only — we don’t store it, and you can change or ignore it. If you prefer, simply type your location manually.
AI fit analysis
When you choose “Check my fit”, the resume text you provide and the selected job details are sent to Anthropic’s API to generate the analysis, governed by Anthropic’s own policies. We don’t retain this content.
Cookies & tracking
We don’t use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. If ads are shown in future, we’ll use a privacy-respecting provider and update this policy.
Your control
You can export, import, or delete your data at any time from Settings. Clearing your browser’s site data removes everything JobWren has stored locally.
